Bold, New Experiment

Not so much an experiment as an attempt to dedicate to doing something on a regular basis. Starting today, I’m going to try and post here every day, but not to make it just fluff, like those seemingly endless online quizzes. :)

Why have I decided to do this?

I’m a subscriber to Dr. Jakob Nielson’s biweekly column Alertbox. It’s really interesting, dealing with website and electronic communication usability in general. Last week’s newsletter was entitled “Write Articles, Not Blog Postings“. The article discusses why you should invest time in writing entries in a blog, rather than just whipping up something to fill the space.

It really makes a lot of sense, when you think about it, and the lisahartjes.com suite of sites were all created for a purpose. I need to get back on track with everything. Establish a routine for getting things done that’ll work when the kids are home, and will work even better once they’re back in school.

Housekeeping

I’ve done a bit of housekeeping here, and got rid of the forums. They weren’t being used, and were just taking up valuable space.

That doesn’t mean I don’t want there to be any discussions. To that end, I’ll be rolling out specific mailing lists to be used for that until I think it’s worth getting the forums up and running again.
