Another Year

Look at that. It’s been 2008 for a week and this is the first post I’ve made. Figures. But with the kids home, it’s makes for a really hectic time. I’m trying to figure out a way to be able to write through these times, but it’s slow going. I’ve found a couple of things I’m going to try. If they work, I’ll share them with you.

With the new year here, everyone is talking and writing about their New Year’s resolutions. Did you make any? I did. Kind of. It’s more of a business plan than anything else. Actually, it’s not even a business plan. It’s a statement of intent. It’s my goal to start making some money through the web. No, I’m not going to be hawking “How To Get Rich Overnight On The Internet” articles. I’m only going to sell things I write myself, or things that I use myself or otherwise believe in the quality of the product.

There’s also going to be some work done to customize the appearance of this blog, getting it more towards something that reflects me and not some theme I picked up somewhere. In addition, I’m considering starting up another website (yeah, I know, not another one) to showcase a certain aspect of my writing. I’ve got the name picked out, and it’s catchy, but I haven’t registered the domain yet. Before I do that, though, I want to make a plan for what I’m going to be doing. I don’t want this to be a half-assed job.
