Sixth Anniversary
Filed Under Art of Writing, Gates of Amduat
No, not my wedding anniversary, but this is the sixth weekday in a row that I’ve posted to this site.
Yesterday was a busy day. I had to take care of some personal stuff, and then it was down to work. I completed the corrections to the introduction and first chapter of the d20 version of The Kandris Seal. I also started getting ready for NaNoWriMo which is next month. I’ve decided to do a minor cheat and work on The Gates of Amduat. Yes, I know, I’ve already started it, but I plan on writing 50k of new words. To that end, I worked on the scenes to figure out where I need to go. I’ve got 26 scenes planned, so that means I have to write an average of 1924 words per scene to get that target. I’m going to try, but I don’t really care if I win or not. I won last year, but it made November a rather hellish time for me. I’m not going to push myself as hard as I did last year. It wasn’t fun.
I also got the first crit back for the half of the Chapter 2 rewrite for TMA. She liked it!
Of course, there was a bunch of stuff that needs to be fixed, but I expected that. It looks like I’ve truly found my “voice” with this novel, and that’s a real thrill - and a relief.
