Sugar Shock

Are you or your kids suffering from it? I’m rather proud of myself. I only snitched one piece of candy from the kids last night. :)

Yesterday was a busy day. I completed a couple of crits for my writing group, and the “up to date” light is in sight. :) I also discussed NaNoWriMo with my friend David, and about the Young Adult story he’s thinking about writing. See David? Now that I’ve announced it, you have to write it. LOL! He’s got a rather interesting premise for the story. It’s going to make for some interesting reading, and the best thing is that there’s a growing market for YA fiction right now, thanks for Harry Potter.

Today is the first day of National Novel Writing Month. I am participating in it, but I’m not going to kill myself to get to 50k words. I did that last year and it caused all kinds of problems, some of which I’m still trying to fix. My goal is to work on The Gates of Amduat for at least one to two hours each day. If that gets me to 50k, then great. If not, then I’ve still got everything I’ve written. I plan on posting what I write to the Gates of Amduat site the day after I’ve written it, so the first posting of new material should be tomorrow.

I’ve also got a long list of other things to do today, so we’ll see how everything goes.
