I feel like I’m cheating.

Woohoo! Take a look at the word meter. I am officially 1/4 of the way through writing TMA – if I put TMA at 100k words. I don’t know if I will. I need to do some research to see if that’s a good word count for a first urban fantasy/mystery novel. I may need to shorten it by 10k to 20k, but I’m not sure. I really need to figure that out before I finish, and discover I have to cut a heck of a lot. Anyway, the 25k mark (or really, 24,781 words) puts me at the end of Chapter 10. The first subplot is a chapter away from ending, and others are being started.
I also feel like I’m cheating my family when it comes to dinner tonight. I feel really good about the fact I cook good meals for them, varying between home made and semi-home made. Tonight, though, we’re having a taco kit. I had a coupon for them, and it’s something the kids really like. Doesn’t take all that long to make either, which is a real bonus. I do have nice, healthy toppings for it though – shredded lettuce, extra sharp cheddar, and low fat sour cream. Maybe supper won’t be quite so naughty after all.

My Other Passion
Filed Under Personal | Leave a Comment
Those of you who know me (some better than others), are aware I have a few passions in my life. Writing and role playing games are two of them. Another is cooking. I love to cook for and with my family and friends. My son adores trying new things, and is always suggesting new dishes and ingredients. My daughter loves to play “cooking show”.
However, this blog is supposed to be dedicated to my writing life, so I’ve started another one. It’s called “Chef Lisa“, and it will be my outlet for all my cooking and food musings. I hope if you visit, you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing it.
