It’s the study of word origins. I found a website called Etymologic!, a website that does an etymological quiz – it picks out 10 randomly selected etymology (word origin) or word definition puzzles to solve, and you’re given a couple of possible answers. Some of the answers are quite sneaky – they sound very plausible, but they’re not correct.

I got 6 out of 10 when I did the quiz. I’ll go back and do it again some other time, once I’ve recovered from the shame of it all. :) Similar Posts:
